Hari ini aku berhasil menyetting PXE untuk Windows Server 2003.
Ternyata gampang banget, karena sebelumnya Diskless Workstation sudah bisa jalan. Yang perlu dilakukan hanyalah meletakkan file-file yang dibutuhkan ke dalam forlder TFTPDROOT yang ada di Drive C, dan client sudah bisa terhubung melalui DHCP. Dan dari sana pula kita bisa langsung install program-program windows, setelah sebelumnya kita copy master windowsnya ke filder yang sudah disharing di TFTPDROOT tersebut.
Ada beberapa hal yang perlu menjadi catatan disini, akan perlunya membaca manual dari program PXE yang kita gunakan. Ketika saya mau mapping folder server melalui perintah "Net Use" tidak pernah berhasil. Namun karena menggunakan BartPE, dan didalamnya sudah diselipkan perintah-perintah tambahan oleh pembuatnya (terima kasih saya ucapkan), akhirnya berhasil juga mappingnya setelah membuka petunjuk manualnya, yaitu menggunakan perintah "NUG" (Net Use GUI). Perintah lainnya yang menarik adalah aplikasi semacam exlorer di Windows, yaitu program "Jelajah", yang membuat kita bisa mengeksplorasi folder dan file dari drive yang kita punya. Dan program-program tersebut tidak bisa diketahui hanya dengan berbekal pengetahuan yang telah kita punya. hehe
Satu lagi, adakalanya kita mau menjalankan sebuah program dari PXE yang tidak bisa dieksekusi (dijalankan). Itu terjadi karena folder yang kita share tidak diberi hak penuh untuk mengeksekusi program. Cobalah ubah access permisionnnya menjadi full access, insyaallah program-program yang tadinya tidak mau dibuka kini sudah bisa berjalan dengan baik. Ini yang saya alami.

Akses Root Ubuntu dengan Nautilus
Sempat bingung ketika ingin menjalankan aplikasi atau memanipulasi folder dan file yang tidak bisa diakses sebagai user biasa, tapi harus sebagai root. Ketika dengan terminal biasa kita kesulitan untuk mengakses folder maupun beberapa file, maka kita membutuhkan sebuah explorer dengan interface GUI untuk mempermudahnya. Sempat menggunakan MC (Midnight Commander), namun kesulitan juga untuk berubah menjadi root. Akhirnya menemukan sebuah trik, yaitu membuat sebuah launcher di desktop untuk mengakses nautilus.
Caranya cukup mudah yaitu klik kanan area kosong di desktop, kemudian pilih new launcher (kalo di windows istilahnya shortcut). kemudian di kotak aplikasi isikan "gksudo nautilus". Setelah itu kita bisa dengan mudah mengeksplore isi harddisk dengan user root.

Pencarianpun mulai dilakukan, dan bermacam-macam cara yang diberikan oleh mereka-mereka yang sudah terbiasa menggunakan ubuntu (maklum, penulis newbie banget dalam hal linux). Namun setelah sekian lama mencari di forum-forum maupun blog-blog, eh ternyata ketemu cara yang paling cepat dan sangat mudah sekali.
Hanya cukup dengan mengetik "apt:firefox-3.5" di address bar firefox, dan proses update pun mulai berjalan. tentu saja ada beberapa file terkait yang harus diupdate.
Ada juga yang menyarankan dengan menggunakan aplikasi sehingga bisa juga diupdate otomatis dengan menggunakan UbuntuZilla.

Cara Konfigurasi Jaringan di virtual dengan real system
Allow....... lam kenal semuah........ saya sekedar ingin berbagi informasi dengan teman-teman semuah..... yupz....sekadar info gimana caranya konfigurasi jaringan dalam 1 Komputer dengan ngunaainnn OS (Operating system: kyak windows 7, XP, windows server 2003) yang berbeda...
sebelumnya di dalam PC,Notebook atau laptop kita harus diinstall Virtual Box (virtual system),,,, terus lakukan penginstalan OS didalam virtual box . selain itu, pastikan ! di virtual system dan real system(komputer) telah terinstall OS(Operating Sytem). jangan lupa firewall dimatikan baik yang ada di real system maupun di virtual system sebelum melakukan konfigurasi jaringan.
*Konfigurasi jaringan pada real system (di Windows 7):
1. Klik Start.... lalu Pilih Run atau dengan win key+r
lalu ketik "hdwwiz", tapi kalaw di windows XP pilih control panel+add new Hardware.... lalu klik OK
2. Selanjutnya akan muncul kotak dialog seperti disamping kiri ini, kemudian pilih next untuk melanjutkan ke proses selanjutnya.
3. Maka akan muncul kotak seperti disamping kemudian pilih "install the hardware that manually select from a list(advanced)" kemudian klik next.
4.Kemudian pilih Network adapters dan klik next.
5. Muncul kotak yang isinya nama-nama hardware adapter connection seperti disamping ini, lalu pilih hardware dari Microsoft, lalu pilih microsoft loopback adapter yang berfungsi sebagai penghubung antara operating system di virtual system dan real system.
6. Maka akan ditampilkan tampilan berikut, lalu klik next untuk memulai proses installansi Microsoft Loopback Adapter.... tunggu sampai proses installasinya selesai.
7.Setelah proses installasi selesai maka akan muncul tampilan dibawah ini , kemudian pilih finish
8. kemudian buka kembali control panel+ administrative tools.... lalu pilih networks and internet maka muncul tampilan berikut ;
lalu pilih Microsoft loopback+ klik right (kanan) pilih properties....
9. Lalu muncul kotak sebagai berikut;
lalu pilih internet protocol version 4(TCP/ipv4) pilih properties,maka akan muncul tampilan sebagai berikut :
kemudian masukkan ip address pada real system dan default gateway nya yang berfungsi sebagai pintu gerbang untuk penghubung antara real system dan virtual box.
*Langkah selanjutnya lakukan konfigurasi di virtual box:
1. Pada virtual box, lakukan kembali proses masuk ke dalam control panel+network Connection+local area connection kemuadian klik kanan + properties, muncul gambar sebagai berikut:

masukkan ip address pada virtual box yag sama dengan default gateway pada real system dan masukkan default gatewaynya yang sama dengan ip address pada real system.

*Langkah selanjutnya lakukan pengencekkan koneksi dari real system ke virtual system :

2. ketik cmd, lalu ketik ping + ip address virtual systemnya, contohnya ; "ping 192.168.0.1"
maka akan muncul gambar dibawah ini jika telah terkoneksi :
3. 3.Apabila telah terkoneksi ke real system maka lakukan hal yang sama dari virtual system ke real system.
* catatan :
1. apabila pada command prompt tertulis "destination host uncreseable" pastikan microsoft loopback telah terinstalasi dengan benar dan ip telah dimasukkan dengan benar.
2. apabila pada command prompt tertulis "request time out" lakukan pengencekkan pada firewall, jika masih hidup maka firewallnya dimatikan.

How to: Install Triple Operating System. Windows XP, Ubuntu, and Windows 7
Hi everyone I’m back again :) this time we will learn how to make triple boot with 3 operating system on 1 (one) notebook/personal computers. In this short tutorials I will show you the way how to install windows XP, ubuntu, and windows 7 without need to much modification and of course with low error risk. I guarantee everyone can follow this simple steps without problem as long you read every step carefully. This installation should starts from windows XP then ubuntu and then windows 7. If you not follow this step I’m not guarantee if you meet problem in your boot loader so please read carefully before you do something that will make your day become bad.
Reason:
This day I still need windows XP for completing my daily job, beside that I also want to try windows 7, in other side I always open minded to trust every operating source is good, that’s why I choose ubuntu as my unix family. Why Windows XP still needed this day? because some application wouldn’t run smoothly on windows 7 even with xp compability. I believe other people also has their own reason.
Requirements:
1. Notebook/Netbook/Personal Computer.
2. Minimum RAM (random access memory) 1 GB, Recommended RAM 4GB.
3. VGA card with minimum 128 MB, Recommended 512 MB .
4. Minimum 1.6 GHz processor.
5. DVD/CD ROM, Flash-disk (used as install media, Flash-disk only used for BIOS supported Flash-disk boot).
Preparations:
Before you follow instruction how to install triple OS please prepared your HDD partition. Use any tools you like, I recommended to use “Partition Magic” since it really simple and easy. Partition your HDD to become 4 or more drive. Drive C and D should be in NTFS format with size minimum 30GB (Recommended 50GB), another drive is free for you to choose how you like them to be. Assuming now you have 4 drives C,D,E,F and you already have all requirements now move to next step.
1. Installing Windows XP.
Just insert your windows XP DVD/CD and it will run automatically clean install. If you don’t have DVD/CD-rom you can search on google how to install windows XP through flash-disk (you will need BIOS which can boot from flash-disk) Follow all step on installation, PLEASE INSTALL WINDOWS XP ON C DRIVE. sit back and relax until windows XP installed on your computer.
2. Installing Ubuntu.
After windows XP installed now we have to install ubuntu first before install windows 7. Get a wubi! download it and then run it from windows XP. Follow all step and read the FAQ on wubi website, PLEASE INSTALL UBUNTU ON C DRIVE. Now sit back and relax again until wubi installing ubuntu on your system.
3. Installing Windows 7.
After This step now you have dual-boot it was windows XP and ubuntu. Now the last step is installing windows 7. Use DVD-rom if you have, if you don’t you can use flash-disk and created boot flash-disk using Windows 7 USB/DVD tool
Just follow all instruction PLEASE INSTALL WINDOWS 7 ON D DRIVE, sit back and relax get some coffee! :D
Checking Your System.
After all step done now you will have windows 7 boot with option to choose “Earlier Version of Windows” and “windows 7” if you want to boot into windows xp or ubuntu you have to choose “Earlier Version of Windows” Windows XP and ubuntu will listed on this menu, if you want to run windows 7 just run choose “windows 7“. Now try each operating system and make sure there is no error or problem on boot and application.

This day I still need windows XP for completing my daily job, beside that I also want to try windows 7, in other side I always open minded to trust every operating source is good, that’s why I choose ubuntu as my unix family. Why Windows XP still needed this day? because some application wouldn’t run smoothly on windows 7 even with xp compability. I believe other people also has their own reason.
Requirements:
1. Notebook/Netbook/Personal Computer.
2. Minimum RAM (random access memory) 1 GB, Recommended RAM 4GB.
3. VGA card with minimum 128 MB, Recommended 512 MB .
4. Minimum 1.6 GHz processor.
5. DVD/CD ROM, Flash-disk (used as install media, Flash-disk only used for BIOS supported Flash-disk boot).
Preparations:
Before you follow instruction how to install triple OS please prepared your HDD partition. Use any tools you like, I recommended to use “Partition Magic” since it really simple and easy. Partition your HDD to become 4 or more drive. Drive C and D should be in NTFS format with size minimum 30GB (Recommended 50GB), another drive is free for you to choose how you like them to be. Assuming now you have 4 drives C,D,E,F and you already have all requirements now move to next step.
1. Installing Windows XP.
Just insert your windows XP DVD/CD and it will run automatically clean install. Membuat komputer/notebook booting dari jaringan dengan PXE
Dengan komputer notebook Toshiba Portage 2000 yang termasuk notebook lama dan tidak ada external CD/DVD dan tidak bisa booting via USB disk, maka kemungkinan untuk melakukan install ulang sistem operasi yaitu melakukan booting dari jaringan.
Disini dipersiapkan untuk melakukan instalasi windows di notebook.
Beberapa hal yang perlu disiapkan yaitu :
1. Komputer host sebagai server
2. PXE server
3. Image file untuk booting
4. Kabel UTP atau LAN
Tahapan yang dilakukan yaitu :
1. Siapkan komputer host, yaitu komputer desktop kerja
2. Install PXE server software
PXE server software yang dibutuhkan disini yaitu mempunyai fitur :
a. DHCP server, agar komputer yang akan booting di LAN mendapatkan IP otomatis
b. Bisa melakukan booting melalui LAN
Software yang dipakai yaitu tftpd32 yang dapat didownload di http://tftpd32.jounin.net atau langsung file berikut http://www.jounin.net/download/tftpd32.329.zip
Lakukan berikut ini:
a. Download file tersebt diatas
b. extract semua file di c:\pxeserver
3. Download image file
Image file yang diperlukan disini yaitu bertujuan agar komputer dapat booting di DOS dengan fasilitas jaringan aktif.
File image dapat didownload di NU2, yaitu “BFD full package v1.0.7.zip” dengan alamat website http://www.nu2.nu/bootdisk/network/
Lakukan berikut ini :
a. extract file di folder c:\pxeserver\image
b. buat image dengan cara berikut ini:
- cd c:\pxeserver\image
- bfd -i c:\pxeserver\bfd.imz -t 144 msnet target a:
c. akan diperoleh file image di c:\pxeserver\bfd.imz dengan ukuran 1,44 Mb
4. Setup PXE server
a. jalankan program c:\pxeserver\tftpd32.exe
b. Pilih tabulasi DHCP server, dan isikan variabel DHCP server, misal :
- Current direktori : sesuai tempat install
- alamat komputer : 192.168.7.12
- alamat DHCP yang diinginkan mulai dari 192.168.7.200 sebanyak 5 alamat (7.200 - 7.204)
- Boot file diisi dengan : pxelinux.0
- DNS server : dikosongkan (0.0.0.0)
- Router dan network mask diisi sesuai dengan parameter jaringan.
- klik tombol save agar tersimpan setupnya
c. Seting tftpd32
- klik tombol settings
- Pastikan isi base direktori adalah “.”
- Isian lainnya adalah default
5. Setup untuk booting otomatis
a. Download file kernel dari syslinux, url yaitu : http://www.kernel.org/pub/linux/utils/boot/syslinux/ pilih file syslinux-2.10.zip
b. Extract file tersebut dan pilih file “pxelinux.0″ dan copy ke c:\pxeserver
c. Di folder hasil extract diatas, pilih subfolder memdisk dan pilih file “memdisk”, copy file tersebut ke c:\pxeserver
d. Buat folder “c:\pxeserver\pxelinux.cfg”
e. Buat file “c:\pxeserver\pxelinux.cfg\default” dan edit dengan text editor (notepad) dan isikan dengan text berikut :
default boot
prompt 0
say booting…
label boot
kernel memdisk
append initrd=bfd.imz
6. Sambungkan komputer notebook portage 2000 ke LAN dan booting pilih lewat PXE / LAN
- Pilih konfigurasi AUTO saja jika tidak tahu banyak tetang setup jaringan
